Bring Your Questions!
Church is so much more than a service on the weekend. It’s about connecting with other people, growing in your faith, and building a strong foundation for your family, your community and your future.
We believe that most people have questions; about life, family and meaning – we like to talk about those things. We would love to have you join us for our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 am and get to know the people that call Southside their home church.
If you’d like more in-depth information about what we believe, feel free to read our Statement of Faith!
Southside@Main is a member church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada.
Meet The Team
Rev. Ian Campbell
My favorite conversation begins when someone tells me “I’m not religious’, because my response is always “me neither!” This usually causes a raising of eyebrows because I’m a pastor and supposedly a “religious” person. My passion in life is to guide and teach people to follow Jesus in ways that are real and authentic and not necessarily bound by the tradition of what we call religion. Jesus once said something like “I’m here now, and everything changes!” I’ve discovered that’s true; everything is still changing in my life and all around me.
I grew up in Northern Ireland, having been brought here by my parents as a teenager. I’ve lived and worked as a pastor across North America, first in school in Philadelphia and Vancouver, then Ontario. I’ve been busy with my wife AnnaBeth, raising a family; a daughter and 3 sons who now who are parents themselves of our 6 grandchildren. We love family gatherings and trips!
At 200 Main Street I love to hang out with a cup of coffee and chat. We say that there is no conversation that is out of bounds, or over, while there are still ideas to consider. But be warned: I might bring up something Jesus said or did!
Rev. Bryan O'Gorman
“I live life as an active participant, with energy, integrity, continually learning, with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others”. These words have been my personal mission statement for the past 20 + years. This focus feeds my soul and brings joy to my life. Having experienced the pain of losing my spouse in 2009, then meeting and marrying my Soul-mate in 2014; it’s been fun merging two families into one, which now includes 4 children and a total of 6 grandchildren. God is great!!
Finally, being ordained in 2016, (I’m a little slow – I began the process in 1985!) after a career in logistics, and volunteering for several mission trips along the way, it’s a sheer delight now to be serving as the Assistant Pastor and interim Family Ministries Pastor at Southside. To see children and their families grow, through experiencing God’s love, and to work with talented volunteers, has helped me to be transformed as well. Come join us; be part of God using ordinary people to do extraordinary things together.
I came to ministry later in life (better late than never – you might say!) after a career in the information technology field. I discovered my ministry calling while attending Heritage Seminary shortly after the conclusion of that career. After graduating from seminary in 2009, I was offered the position of Associate Pastor here at Southside, which my wife, Audrey, and I had attended since 1995. Several members of the congregation came alongside me since connecting with the church to encourage me in taking a lead role in ministry, starting with Men’s Ministry, then Small Group leadership and subsequently Care ministry. Looking back and connecting the dots it was clearly a divinely ordained path to realizing my giftedness, and that all important calling of pastoral ministry.
I retired in March 2014 but continue in a pastoral role at Southside, and in the community as a volunteer chaplain at Milton District Hospital. I’m occasionally asked to officiate at funerals and lead chapel services at long term care and retirement residences. My wife and I were married in 1969 and emigrated from the UK in 1971. We have two children, who have blessed us with four delightful grandchildren!
Administrator and Worship Arts Leader
I’m generally the first person you talk to when you call the church, and the first one you see when you come in the front doors on a Sunday. I’m the person who knows everything around here! ☺
I grew up in a Christian home and made a commitment to Jesus at a Billy Graham crusade when I was fifteen. I was scared to walk forward when they offered the invitation, but I knew then what I still believe… that I would follow Jesus all my life.
I’ve been married to Ian for 25 years and we have two grown children, Ethan & Maisie. As a family, we moved to Canada from England in 2009 and have been attending Southside ever since.
I often play and sing with the worship team, and when I’m not working in the office at Southside, I also teach violin and piano and play in the Milton Philharmonic Orchestra. Got questions? I’ve got answers….call me!

Our Eldership Team
Simply put, our Elders are men and women who have been chosen by us to serve us by providing spiritual oversight. They are prayer warriors, teachers, decision makers and counsellors. They are the spiritual and teaching leaders of the church, who are leading by example, as well as fulfilling a legal role as our Board of Directors.
I’m passionate about supporting young leaders to serve God, their local church and their communities with energy and love. I’ve spent most of my career working with organizations and individuals navigating either an individual or a group transition.
I gave my life to Christ at an early age and have always known that my Christian identity is the central theme of my life and work. I’ve experienced some rough roads on my journey; divorce, single parenting, losing a spouse to cancer and more. And, I’ve also been greatly blessed along the way. I have three grown children that I’m proud of (most of the time ☺), 4 grandchildren (that I’m always proud of) and a husband that is my best friend. I can say with certainty that God is good…all the time!
I’m humbled to be serving Southside as an Elder, after being a member here for over 25 years. I’m beyond excited about the future of the church here in Milton; I believe that God is on the move in our community and I love being able to be part of His plans.
My wife Anne and I’ve had the privilege of being two of the founding members of Southside Community Church. We’ve attended here since 1984! We hauled dry wall, painted trim and literally helped build the Derry Rd. building. Those were exciting days, as we leaned into God and watched His plans unfold around us.
People who know me well would say I have a passion for cooking…and I do. Anne and I have spent many hours in the kitchen serving up food for pot lucks, kids retreats, holiday meals and more. I also have a passion for prayer, for my fellow Christians and for those on their way to God.
I’ve enjoyed leading Men’s Bible studies throughout the years, and I also relish my personal time in the Word. I have a heart for missions and have loved serving at youth camps in Northern Manitoba and Haiti.
Anne and I have been married for 38 years and we’ve got 3 spunky children…all married (Courtney/Dan, Brady/ Krystal, Bronwen/Joel) and 3 equally spunky grandchildren, Brenyn, Emrys, Barrett.
There are exciting days ahead for Southside, you can feel the energy in the air here. If you’re looking for a group of people to work shoulder to shoulder with for the Kingdom, you’ve come to the right place!
My wife Mary and I have been a part of Southside since the mid 90s. We raised our four children here and in this season we’re now enjoying friendships, learning, faith stretching, and most of all, the opportunity to serve.
Over the years we’ve been honoured to serve in various capacities: myself on the board of elders, Mary leading the children’s ministry, and various responsibilities in between. I’ve come to believe both in my personal, professional, and of course Christian life, that nothing is more important than humble servant leadership.
These days I’m husband to Mary, dad of four kids (six with in-laws), grandpa of two amazing grandchildren, business owner, treasurer at Southside, and lastly… a wannabee golfer.
We’re looking forward to the future for Southside@Main, where we can freshly begin to welcome Miltonians to gather with us around tables of communion, conversation, friendship and challenge. Let’s explore together what it meant when Jesus said he came to show us how we can live extraordinary lives!
I have always been a people person, but after coming to Christ at the age of 22, (a year after I started teaching) God placed in my heart, a desire for building deeper relationships with the people around me. I recently retired from teaching full time and now I love spending time with people in more casual ways; enjoying a chat over a cup of coffee.
I teach in the Beloved Children’s Ministry and participate in our Ladies’ Bible Study where, with the kids and the ladies, we’ve been growing spiritually together. The Lord has also been leading me to a deeper relationship with Him through prayer, so I can better serve Him and others.
I have been married to my husband Lorne since 1984, and the Lord has richly blessed our family. Come and join us for coffee and conversation.

As the eldest of 6 children (4 boys and 2 girls) I grew up in Axum, Ethiopia. In my younger years, I had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different religious backgrounds, and those early relationships have given me the opportunity to reflect on my own spiritually. I decided to be a follower of Jesus Christ in 1990 when I was a postgraduate student at an Institute of Technologies in India. Since then, I have enjoyed participating in church life and culture, both as a member in local congregations and as part of my professional work.
I’m an environmentalist by training, and in 2016 I joined World Vision Canada; an international Christian humanitarian organization. Prior to joining WV I worked for the Ethiopian government for 22 years in four Africa countries. I’ve I travelled extensively all over the world and have had the opportunity to meet people from across the globe who follow Jesus Christ, in culturally different ways. Jesus’ teachings and life guide my thought processes and my life. I’m married to Fitsum Tiruneh and we have three daughters, Bethel (22), Hiyab (19) and Brook (15).
We care about each other’s real lives at Southside, and we look for ways to extend practical help, prayer and encouragement to each other. Our Elder couples are people that you can turn to with concerns, prayer requests and celebrations in your life. If you’d like to be introduced to your Elder couple simply fill in the Connect Card and drop it into the offering plate, email them directly, or call Bethany at the office and request a meeting (905-878-5664).
