Lifeway Research – a U.S. research group reports that only 2% of church attenders invited someone to come to church last year. We will think for a few weeks about this as we head into the Fall ministry at Southside. There are those who are particularly good at their role in introducing people to one another. They see the potential impact on the lives and situations of those they are connected with and often are able to stand back and observe relationships that might not have connected now thriving.
The classic introducer in the stories of the Bible is someone that we meet with the simple words that “there was a man sent from God whose name was John.”Many of the Kingdom aspects of introduction are personified in this dramatic character. He was sent to bear witness of the Light. And his means of bearing witness was the public job of introduction. A good role model in many ways. Join us this Sunday as we look at John 1.6-9.
